There are two lenses on each side. The inner pair stays in place, and the outer tinted pair sits on a hinge at the brow of the frame. Lifting the outer pair swings it up and out of the line of sight, and dropping it back down puts the tint in front of the eyes again.
The mechanism is designed for one hand, so it can be done at a light or a stop sign. Riders should not be adjusting eyewear at speed, and the flip is quick enough that it does not need to happen mid-corner.
